Summary
The client is a nationally recognized Am Law 100 law firm seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its Albuquerque office. The role involves managing diverse civil defense litigation matters, drafting legal filings, conducting discovery and research, handling depositions, developing case strategy, preparing for hearings and trials, and working directly with clients.
Responsibilities
- Handling a diverse caseload of civil defense litigation matters
- Managing cases through various stages of litigation
- Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings
- Managing written discovery and conducting legal research
- Taking and defending depositions
- Developing case strategy alongside experienced litigators
- Preparing for hearings, mediations, and trial
- Working directly with clients throughout the litigation process
Skills
- Defense litigation experience
- Experience in employment, construction, personal injury defense, or other civil litigation areas
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral advocacy and persuasive communication skills
- Ability to handle assignments with minimal supervision
- Strong academic credentials
- 2–3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred, with other experience levels considered
- Trial experience preferred, but not required
