Summary
Airbnb is a global hospitality and travel platform connecting hosts and guests through stays and experiences. The Total Compensation Accountant will support global compensation accounting by reconciling and analyzing payroll-related accounts, processing financial transactions, supporting close activities, and ensuring accurate SOX-compliant GAAP reporting. The role also partners with Payroll Operations, Equity Administration, Benefits, Finance, Legal, and Talent teams while improving accounting processes through technology and AI.
Responsibilities
- Perform month and quarter end close activities, including journal entries, detail and summary level analysis of impacts to the balance sheet and income statement, balance sheet account reconciliations, and reporting schedules
- Support global Payroll Operations, Equity Administration, and Benefits teams with accounting knowledge
- Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and other tasks as assigned
- Collaborate with all parts of Finance, Legal & Talent to ensure accurate financial statements
- Ensure SOX compliance with key controls & accurate GAAP reporting and fulfilling internal and external reporting requirements
- Support transitions and knowledge transfer, monitoring critical deliverables
- Leverage AI, technology, and expertise to streamline accounting processes
- Be a confident problem solver in a solutions-orientated environment
- Working hours: 8 am to 5 pm PST (11am to 8 pm EST)
Skills
- * BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
- * Minimum of 3 years experience
- * Strong verbal, written, analytical, organization and critical thinking skills
- * Self starter with the ability to form conclusions and present findings
- * Team player with the ability to work independently and willingness to take on challenges
- * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- * Experience using AI tools to automate processes and drive efficiency gains
- * Experience with ERP systems, Workday and/or Oracle
- * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
