Summary
AIRCO is a world leader in carbon conversion technology, paving the way to global energy security by transforming CO₂ into a valuable resource. They are seeking an Engineer I to support process and project design engineering, with a focus on process development and engineering documentation, in a hands-on lab and pilot plant environment.
Responsibilities
- Build hands-on familiarity with AIRCO’s lab and pilot plant operations through structured onsite training and project work
- Work with Senior Engineers/ Technical Specialists to develop process flow schemes
- Work under the direction of Senior Engineers/ Technical Specialists to develop engineering design templates
- Work with Senior Engineers/ Technical Specialists to develop engineering tools for equipment design
- Review data, schematics, drawings, and process documentation for accuracy and quality
- Support senior engineers on cross-functional development projects and technical problem-solving
- Support evaluation of new process technologies and development of process solutions
- Analyze data and communicate findings and recommendations through written summaries and verbal updates
- Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering design standards/guidelines, as well as, environmental, health and safety regulations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
- 0 to 2 years of relevant industry, internship, co-op, or research experience
- Exposure to process development, pilot plant operations, scale-up, or process engineering
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and willingness to work hands-on in lab and pilot environments
- Strong commitment to personal and process safety
- Collaborative, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-moving technical environment
- Familiarity with engineering, modeling, or data analysis tools such as AutoCAD, Aspen, Python, Matlab, or similar tools is a plus
- Exposure to catalysis, separations, thermal processes, or related chemical engineering concepts
