Job description

Summary

Akamai Technologies develops distributed cloud, edge, security, and content delivery technologies, and is hiring a Software Engineer II. The role focuses on developing scalable automated systems, enhancing products, building data analysis and visualization tools, and delivering full-stack software solutions. The engineer will also research technologies, provide product insights, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Developing software for highly scalable automated systems to improve the security of our products and platforms
  • Maintaining and enhancing products, providing key performance insights for customers
  • Building data analysis and visualization tools to help customers and internal teams understand the health of products
  • Delivering full-stack software development from front-end to application framework to data management
  • Becoming a subject matter expert by researching relevant technologies to provide insight into further product enhancements
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to design and execute best solutions

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, IT, or Telecommunications Engineering
  • Must have: Completion of a university-level course, internship, thesis, or research project involving the following: Strong mathematical fundamentals in linear algebra and differential equations; Mathematical modeling of systems; Object Oriented Programming; C# programming language; Data structures and algorithms; and Parameterization in simulation software
