Summary

Pinnacle Solutions, an Akima company, is looking for a passionate and motivated Game Designer to join their virtual development team on a part-time basis. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to implement gameplay features and training content for serious games, while providing an opportunity for college students to gain early professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with artists, software engineers, subject matter experts, and other game designers to implement gameplay features and training content for serious games
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times
  • Follow development standards using proprietary development tools
  • Debug and resolve bugs, performance issues, and gameplay inconsistencies

Skills

  • Currently studying for a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Game Design/Development, or a related field
  • Knowledge of 3D game mechanics
  • Familiarity and understanding of how to use the Unity Game Engine
  • Understanding of and the ability to program in C# and/or Lua
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail are a must
  • Ability to work in a team and take constructive feedback
  • Strong communication skills
  • US citizenship
  • Based in, or around Huntsville, AL
  • Experience in AR/VR development
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce)
  • Familiarity with agile development workflows
