Summary
Alera Group is an independent insurance and financial services firm serving clients across insurance, retirement, wealth, and human capital solutions. The Account Specialist supports the Property & Casualty team by processing service requests, assisting with renewals and policy administration, maintaining client documentation, and building relationships with clients and carriers.
Responsibilities
- Process service-related requests including certificates, endorsements, cancellations, auto identification cards, and policy binders
- Order loss runs, update renewal information, and gather applications and supporting documents for the pre-renewal process
- Assist Account Managers with policy checking, premium audits, and premium finance arrangements
- Develop working knowledge of carrier websites, online tools, and rating systems
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation within agency management systems and document management platforms
- Support the renewal process by coordinating information and assisting with account servicing activities
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with carrier representatives, clients, and colleagues
- Participate in assigned training programs and professional development activities
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills and commitment to service excellence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Resident State Insurance License required or ability to obtain within two months of employment
- Previous insurance industry experience
- Experience using agency management systems, including AMS Sagitta or similar platforms
- Experience supporting commercial insurance accounts
- Familiarity with policy servicing activities, audits, renewals, and client documentation
- College degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field
- Experience working with carrier websites and online rating systems
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills
- Commitment to professional development and ongoing industry education
