Summary
Alliant Insurance Services is an insurance brokerage firm providing employee benefits, property and casualty, workers’ compensation, surety, and financial products and services. The Associate Consultant will support the compensation consulting team through data analysis, market pricing, research, decision support, report development, and client support. The role also assists with compensation program development, survey participation, project planning, and client meeting preparation.
Responsibilities
- Researches market data, salary data aggregators, and other published surveys to aide in market pricing jobs in bulk based on market pricing methodology in order to generate a market composite and recommendation for other compensation policies and programs
- Analyzes market composite based on multiple market pricing sources to inform recommendation to clients
- Analyzes clients' financial and compensation data versus the market utilizing Excel modelling skills
- Utilizes and audits financial models and other efficiency tools created by internal team. May recommend or make edits to models utilized based on changes incurred on task
- Assists in creating meaningful, high-quality reports detailing the firm’s analysis of a client’s challenges and opportunities utilizing PowerPoint and formatted tables derived from data within Excel, based on direction from senior consultants
- Assists consulting team in creating comprehensive compensation programs across clients from various industries based on findings from current state and future strategy
- Creates visual representation to compare market compensation data to client compensation data to support client meetings under general review of more senior consultants
- Plans, directs, and completes participation in annual compensation surveys for various clients to maintain the most up to date survey library
- Demonstrates understanding of tasks and deliverables by documenting process, timing, person(s) responsible, to feed into project plan. May also scope engagements and create initial project plan, data request, and manage all backend client support and analysis
- Generates meeting agendas based on direction from senior consultants and take the lead on calls as directed
- Comply with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information)

Skills
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration or similar discipline with analytics, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products with a strong emphasis in Excel
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Highly analytical, detail oriented, critical thinker who can tell a story using data
- Demonstrated experience meeting tight deadlines, prioritizing tasks, high level of accuracy, and working independently to achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Able to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Two (2) or more years of corporate work experience preferred
