Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Position Summary:

 Assists the Manufacturing Engineering Manager as assigned, gaining knowledge of efficient manufacturing of engines and transmissions, including the use of facilities, plant layout, process tooling, process control plans and job instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with assembly process flow and techniques, including process control plans.
• Assists with the design and maintenance of assembly tooling and fixtures.
• Assists with in-process gauging and evaluation relating to quality product.
• Supports Quality Management System requirements.
• Supports Management Operating System and requirements.
• Assists with engine / transmission components and interaction to completed assembly.
• Ensures compliance with quality standards.
• Reviews, understands, and assures compliance with industrial engineering standards and procedures.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Appropriate computer skills
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical and diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Physical Effort:

 Light physical effort - Intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. No physical strain

Working Conditions:

 This position requires one to work both in an office environment and a manufacturing facility. There is a moderate level of noise, heat dust, dirt, and fumes. This position also requires one to work both alone and as a team while maintaining a regular work schedule.
