Job description

Summary

The American Cancer Society is working to end cancer as we know it for everyone. The Media Analyst is responsible for reporting and analyzing media performance, monitoring media effectiveness, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to optimize media investments and site performance. The role collaborates with marketing and analytics teams to diagnose issues, recommend improvements, and enhance marketing outcomes through data.

Responsibilities

  • Provide actionable insights to improve media mix, audience targeting, and creative effectiveness. (20%)
  • Build dashboards and visualization tools using platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio to create custom views of marketing revenue trends with paid media KPIs. (20%)
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret media performance data across digital and traditional media channels. This includes deep dives in to campaign performance to uncover trends, patterns, and optimization opportunities. (15%)
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs). (15%)
  • Leverage testing frameworks (A/B, incrementality tests) to validate performance hypotheses. (15%)
  • Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and data accessibility. (15%)

Skills

  • Years of experience: 2+
  • Proficiency in analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and media platform reporting suites
  • Strong skills in Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio for data visualization
  • Understanding of attribution models, MMM, and incrementality testing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present findings to stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset – Ability to interpret complex datasets and derive meaningful insights
  • Detail-oriented – Ensures accuracy and consistency in reporting and analysis
  • Problem-solving – Identifies and resolves media performance challenges through data
  • Technical proficiency – Comfortable working with large datasets, visualization tools, and media platforms
  • Collaboration – Works effectively with cross-functional teams to drive data-informed decisions
  • Time management – Manages multiple reporting tasks and ad hoc analyses efficiently
  • Ability to travel (by car and/or airplane) when necessary
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or R is a plus
