Job description
Summary
Arta Finance is on a mission to make financial products accessible to a broader audience through AI and digital tools. The Backend Software Engineer will focus on building high-reliability financial systems that power Arta's wealth platform, ensuring correctness, consistency, and low latency in trading and data processing.
Responsibilities
- Design and build core financial systems (trading, ledger, billing)
- Develop systems for transaction processing, reconciliation, and portfolio state management
- Build and scale real-time and batch data pipelines
- Architect APIs and backend services for internal and external use
- Ensure system reliability, observability, and fault tolerance
- Contribute to distributed systems design (event-driven systems, microservices, streaming)
- Partner with ML teams to integrate models into production systems (as needed, not core focus)
Skills
- Strong backend or systems engineer with experience in distributed systems
- Experience in at least one: Financial systems (trading, ledger, payments), Data infrastructure, Scalable backend platforms
- Strong understanding of system design, consistency, and reliability
- Solid programming skills (Python or similar)
- Experience with modern infra (Kafka, Kubernetes, cloud, etc.)
- Experience with financial primitives (ledger, order management, reconciliation)
- Experience in low-latency or high-throughput systems
- Exposure to data platforms or streaming systems
- Some familiarity with ML systems (nice-to-have, not required)
