Summary

Bechtel Corporation provides students with hands-on experience through its U.S. Summer Internship Program. The Electrical Engineer Intern supports the design of electrical power systems and equipment, performs engineering calculations and equipment selection, and prepares technical drawings while working in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Engineering interns work in multi-disciplinary teams and provide support to the design of electrical power systems and equipment for a variety of industry projects
  • Preparing single-line, metering and relaying, schematics, and protection logic drawings
  • Performing electrical system, equipment sizing, and auxiliary system calculations
  • Sizing, selecting, and specifying transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and distribution panels
  • Sizing, selecting and specifying power, control, and instrumentation cables
  • Sizing, selecting and specifying direct-current/uninterruptible power supplies and emergency generator systems
  • Performing raceway, grounding, lighting, and cathodic protection drawings

Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in the above field
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites
  • Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in the above field
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites

Nice to Haves

  • Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
