Job description

Summary

Bechtel Corporation is an engineering, construction, and infrastructure company serving complex projects worldwide. The company seeks a new graduate Civil Engineer to participate in the design and evaluation of civil and structural components, while assisting with construction drawings, schedules, models, calculations, studies, reports, and proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Permitting
  • Foundation layout, underground utility, and stormwater drainage system design
  • Railway alignment and roadway design
  • Site preparation; finish grading and paving
  • Ponds and reservoirs; Earthworks
  • Analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures and/or steel structures
  • Finite-element analysis for seismic, thermal, and blast events
  • Analysis of supporting foundations for vibrating/rotating equipment and equipment isolation
  • Foundation design and analysis

Skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months
  • Eligible for the University Hire Program (typically hired within 12 months of graduation)
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Master of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months or upcoming twelve (12) months
  • Prior co-op or internship experience
  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
