Summary
Beth Israel Lahey Health is a healthcare organization serving patients and communities through a broad network of care providers. The Financial Analyst supports managed care contract finance by analyzing financial terms, maintaining fee schedule data, developing contract profiles, and conducting ad hoc analyses of reimbursement structures.
Responsibilities
- Performs analyses and reporting in support of managed care contract financial terms
- Maintains fee schedule database, both Professional and Outpatient Technical
- Develops and maintains contract profiles containing comparative information on each contract’s financial terms and key provisions
- Performs ad hoc financial analyses of managed care contracts and rate structures
- Maintain strict adherence to all BILH and BILHPN Policies. Maintain courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and providers and stake holders
- Demonstrate an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment. Demonstrate a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to customer service standards. Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities. Participate in and successfully completes Mandatory Education. Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department
Skills
- Experience: One to three years working for health plan and/or provider
- Working knowledge of financial terms of managed care contracts
- Working knowledge of managed care reimbursement methodologies
- Worked with large medical claims databases (both professional and technical)
- Experience with integrated billing systems (EPIC) or other
- Excellent analytic, verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and dynamic individual with the ability to think creatively and work independently
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with Hospital and Professional provider payment methodologies
- Ability to summarize and present results of analyses clearly and concisely to management
- Proficient with MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Access
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferably in Health Care Management, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent education or experience
