Summary
Blu Omega is a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) delivering technology and cybersecurity solutions to federal agencies. They are seeking a Junior Backend API Developer to support a federal program focused on building the enterprise data layer for the National Weather Service, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing APIs for weather datasets.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement Python Fast APIs based on requirements
- Follow approved Agile life cycle methodologies, create design documents, and perform program coding
- Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
- Interpret data, analyze results, and provide ongoing reports
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources
- Identify, analyze, and interpret data sets and document recommendations
Skills
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience
- Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree can count for 2 years of work experience)
- Strong knowledge of Python and experience with Fast API
- Experience with web services (RESTful)
- Experience with source control management (Git)
- Experience with build automation (Jenkins, Hudson)
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residence
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability/fitness determination based on client requirements
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Experience with JIRA
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
