Job description

Summary

Blu Omega delivers technology and cybersecurity solutions to federal agencies and enterprise clients. The company is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support enterprise cybersecurity activities for the National Cancer Institute by analyzing security requirements, supporting risk management and security solutions, and developing security documentation across NCI systems and environments.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze cybersecurity requirements and support identification of appropriate security solutions
  • Perform security risk analysis and assist with risk assessments
  • Gather and organize technical information related to systems, security tools, and requirements
  • Support development and maintenance of security standards, procedures, and documentation
  • Assist with vulnerability management, security controls, and remediation activities
  • Support RMF, assessment, and authorization activities as assigned
  • Collaborate with technical and cybersecurity teams to identify and address security risks
  • Assist with security engineering, monitoring, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Document findings, recommendations, and technical information

Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related IT/security roles
  • Experience with cybersecurity risk, security requirements, vulnerability management, or security controls
  • Familiarity with NIST, RMF, FISMA, assessment, and authorization concepts
  • Ability to analyze technical information and clearly document findings
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Federal cybersecurity experience is a plus

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related IT/security roles
  • Experience with cybersecurity risk, security requirements, vulnerability management, or security controls
  • Familiarity with NIST, RMF, FISMA, assessment, and authorization concepts
  • Ability to analyze technical information and clearly document findings
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Haves

  • Federal cybersecurity experience is a plus
