Job description

Summary

Booz Allen Hamilton delivers advanced technology solutions for mission-driven projects involving data, analytics, and national security. The Data Engineer will build and deploy data pipelines and platforms, organize disparate data, and support the design and maintenance of scalable platforms in a collaborative, agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your skills and experience to help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry
  • You’ll develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful
  • Here, you’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • You’ll sharpen your skills in analytical exploration and data examination while you support the assessment, design, developing, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients

Skills

  • 1+ year of experience within data engineering, data science, or pipeline development
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry
  • Experience with utilizing programming languages, including Python
  • Experience developing and maintaining scalable data stores that supply big data in forms needed for business analysis
  • Experience with developing scalable data pipelines or ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics
  • Experience creating solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and support project team to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience deploying analytics workloads on a platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS), including AWS EMR, Redshift, SageMaker, Databricks, or machine learning service
  • Experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
  • Experience with distributed or parallel programming frameworks, including Apache Spark or NVIDIA CUDA
  • Experience with infrastructure as code frameworks and services, including Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience developing and presenting complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences and senior leaders
  • Experience developing and deploying large-scale batch and stream analytics pipelines
  • Experience working with integrated groups comprised of customer success managers, infrastructure engineers, data scientists, and software engineers
  • Master's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
  • Cloud Development Certification such as AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Certification
  • Information Security Certification such as Security+ or CISSP Certification
