Software Quality Engineer

Summary

The Software Quality Engineer is responsible for improving software quality and stability by validating customer workflows and collaborating with Product and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, exploratory, regression, and user acceptance testing to validate software functionality
• Develop effective validation approaches, reusable QA coverage, and documentation based on business requirements, technical requirements, and product risk
• Identify, document, and prioritize defects, providing detailed reports to developers to ensure timely fixes
• Ensure applications work across different devices, browsers including Edge, Chrome, Firefox and others, and operating systems such as Windows & MacOS
• Validate end-to-end customer workflows, data integrity, integrations, business rules, and data flows across connected systems
• Contribute to automation coverage by identifying opportunities where automation provides meaningful value and maintaining reliable automated tests that improve testing efficiency
• Work closely with software engineers to reproduce issues and verify fixes
• Understand business requirements and acceptance criteria to create effective test cases
• Identify opportunities for improving manual testing efficiency and propose automation where beneficial
• Keep detailed records of test cases, results, and defect reports
• Conduct final checks before production releases and participate in go/no-go decisions
• Learn and adopt new testing techniques and methodologies as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years of experience in software testing
• Strong ability to analyze requirements, identify quality risks, define effective validation approaches, and communicate findings
• Experience using bug tracking and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar)
• Experience validating APIs, integrations, data flows, and system interactions using appropriate testing tools
• Experience contributing to automated testing solutions using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar technologies
• Experience with SQL for database validation and data integrity testing
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and testing in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Knowledge of performance testing concepts and tools (e.g., JMeter, k6)
• Some experience with version control tools like Git
