Summary
Capital Technology Group provides consulting services in software development, digital transformation, data analytics, visualization, and cybersecurity. The Software Developer will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable applications and services for federal modernization initiatives, including backend systems, APIs, integrations, cloud environments, and enterprise solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and services
- Translate business and product requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions
- Build backend services and APIs using Java, Groovy, Spring Boot, and OpenJDK
- Develop and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs
- Work with MySQL and PostgreSQL and implement application integrations and data flows
- Collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver software
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, cloud adoption, and application modernization
- Apply secure coding practices and support performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Document technical solutions and development processes
Skills
- Applicants **MUST BE** US Citizens and be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
- * **Bachelor's degree** in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- * **2+ years of professional experience** in software development
- * Strong hands-on experience with **Java, Groovy, Spring Boot, and OpenJDK**
- * Experience with **REST and GraphQL APIs, MySQL, and PostgreSQL**
- * Understanding of software development principles, microservices, and distributed systems
- * Experience with **version control, testing, debugging, code reviews, and CI/CD**
- * Experience with **AWS or Azure**
- * Familiarity with **DevSecOps**, secure coding, and modern software delivery practices
- * Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- * Experience with **Angular, React, TypeScript, or JavaScript**
- * Experience with **Docker, Kubernetes, serverless, or cloud-native development**
- * Familiarity with event-driven architecture, Zero Trust, or IAM integrations
- * Experience supporting **federal government agencies**
