Summary
WebstaurantStore is a large ecommerce organization operating the WebstaurantStore app and website as well as TheRestaurantStore.com. The UX Product Design Intern will rotate across product design teams, contribute to real design projects, participate in critiques, collaborate with product managers and engineers, and support user research and usability efforts.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to real design work, from wireframes and prototypes to polished, on-brand UI
- Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback into your work
- Partner with product owners and engineers to understand requirements and design solutions that work within technical constraints and achieve business goals
- Support user research and usability efforts, and help translate insights into design decisions
- Learn and apply our team's design system, patterns, and tools
Skills
- Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection
- Access to a home router and modem
- A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free
- A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.)
- The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc

- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or related program
- Examples of your design work is required to be considered for this role (Include a link or attach a PDF to your application)
- Familiarity with Figma or a comparable design tool
- Curious and eager to learn how design decisions connect to business and customer outcomes
- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback
- Adaptable, since you'll be learning three teams' tools, patterns, and ways of working in one summer
- A collaborative communicator who works well with peers and partners
- Detail-oriented, with a genuine interest in the craft of design
- Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred
- Strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible)
