Job description

Summary

Continental is a leading tire manufacturer and industry specialist that develops sustainable solutions for automotive manufacturers. They are seeking a motivated Quality Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, assisting with quality investigations, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with quality investigations and root cause analysis
  • Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing and quality data
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on reducing scrap and improving process capability
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities
  • Assist with inspections, audits, and documentation
  • Help create and update work instructions, quality procedures, and standard operating procedures
  • Support statistical process control (SPC) activities and reporting
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams
  • Assist with product testing and validation activities
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical or a related Engineering field. Students must be at a minimum sophomore standing with a GPA 2.8 or higher
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, or continuous improvement concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard business tools
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and engage in a hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Legal work authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
  • Experience with data analysis or statistical software
  • Familiarity with quality management systems
  • Previous manufacturing or internship experience
