Job description

Summary

Demiurge Studios is a game development studio creating games for console, PC, and mobile devices. The Associate Software Engineer will collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to implement, test, debug, maintain, and iterate on game features and systems while balancing scope, quality, and development pace.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with artists and designers to understand and define game features and system requirements
  • Implement, test, debug and maintain source code
  • Deliver high quality, functional systems to specification
  • Collaborate with other engineers to develop and iterate on game features
  • Provide ongoing support to artists and designers
  • Make educated trade-offs among scope, quality and pace

Skills

  • Strong programming skills
  • Deep knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or similar discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Experience developing software in a professional environment
  • Experience developing software using agile methodologies
  • Experience developing games with the Unreal and/or Unity Game Engines
  • Experience working in C++ or C#
  • Experience developing apps or games for mobile or console platforms

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • Strong programming skills
  • Deep knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or similar discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
