Job description

Summary

Dice is seeking an Entry-Level Test Automation Engineer to join its Quality Engineering team. The role develops and maintains automated tests for enterprise applications, performs functional and integration testing, supports API and database validation, and integrates test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts
  • Create automated tests for web and application functionality
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing
  • Analyze test results and document defects
  • Work with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot application issues
  • Create and maintain test cases and test documentation
  • Participate in test planning and requirement reviews
  • Validate application functionality against business requirements
  • Support API and database testing
  • Execute automated test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines
  • Track defects and testing activities using enterprise tools
  • Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and product teams
  • Continuously improve test coverage and automation processes
  • Develop automated test cases for web applications
  • Validate user workflows and application functionality
  • Maintain reusable automation components
  • Test REST APIs
  • Validate request/response data
  • Verify API status codes and business logic
  • Write SQL queries to validate application data
  • Verify data integrity between application and database layers
  • Execute automated regression suites
  • Identify failures and investigate root causes
  • Maintain test suites as applications evolve
  • Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Review automated test execution results
  • Communicate failures to development teams

Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in software testing, QA, or test automation
  • Knowledge of software testing fundamentals
  • Programming experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
  • Understanding of automated testing concepts
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication
