Summary
Addleshaw Goddard is a law firm with a Tier 1-ranked Transactional Real Estate team in Leeds. The Associate will act as a dedicated legal resource for a key client, managing transactional real estate matters, supervising junior staff, overseeing completions and financial responsibilities, and building client relationships. The role also involves collaboration on process improvements, wider real estate transactions, and the use of legal technology.
Responsibilities
- Act as a dedicated legal resource for a key client, developing a strong understanding of their business while working within a structured delivery model supported by the wider firm
- Manage your own caseload, ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures, including drafting and negotiating leases, ancillary property documents, tenant due diligence enquiries, and lease management applications
- Oversee transaction completion processes, maintain accurate matter status updates, and manage personal financial responsibilities, including WIP, billing, and write-offs
- Supervise and support junior lawyers and paralegals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work across lettings and property management matters
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external advisers, acting as a key point of contact and participating in client engagement activities
- Collaborate with the wider client account team to share best practice, drive process improvements, maintain consistency of approach, and support wider real estate transactions as required
Skills
- Have a minimum of 3 years' PQE advising on transactional real estate matters in England and Wales
- Be dedicated to the highest levels of client service, with strong communication and relationship building skills
- Have a proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities, and developing practical, commercially focused solutions
- Ideally have experience of working for institutional landlords
- Ideally have experience managing high volume, fast paced workloads in a client facing role as part of a wider team following processes and utilising legal technology tools will be especially suitable
Qualifications
Must Haves
- Have a minimum of 3 years' PQE advising on transactional real estate matters in England and Wales
- Be dedicated to the highest levels of client service, with strong communication and relationship building skills
- Have a proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities, and developing practical, commercially focused solutions
