Summary
Electric Power Engineers provides consulting expertise and energy intelligence software solutions for complex engineering and grid modeling challenges. The Power Systems Engineering Intern will perform steady-state and short-circuit studies, support process improvements through Python scripting, and gain practical experience with Texas and Eastern Interconnection power systems under the guidance of an experienced manager and mentor.
Responsibilities
- The Power Systems Engineer Intern will perform projects/tasks such as network-wide steady-state and short-circuit studies as well as contribute to process improvement efforts, including development of Python scripts
- This position will report to an experienced manager and be exposed to exciting projects building valuable industry knowledge
- This position will be assigned to a business unit and work closely with a mentor to learn the day to day activities of a power systems engineer
Skills
- Completion of, or current enrollment in, a bachelor's degree program with a major in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Completion of, or current enrollment in, power systems fundamentals class(es) (strongly preferred)
