Summary
exacare ai is a health tech company building an AI operating system for post-acute care. The Software Engineer will develop user-facing, full-stack features across the development lifecycle, improve existing systems, and support production software. The role involves collaborating with engineering, product, design, operations, platform, ML, and customer-facing teams to solve healthcare workflow problems.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of well-defined features and improvements—from understanding requirements through implementation, testing, rollout, and support—with guidance from experienced engineers
- Learn how software architecture, data models, APIs, and integrations connect to real healthcare workflows, and use that understanding to inform your work
- Develop full-stack features using TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and modern cloud tooling on AWS, helping customers navigate complex healthcare workflows
- Write tests, participate in code reviews, and follow observability and deployment practices that help the team deliver reliable software
- Use shared components and established patterns, contribute improvements to existing systems, and identify opportunities to simplify code and workflows
- Work with engineering, product, operations, platform, and ML teammates to solve customer problems, ask thoughtful questions, and build your skills through feedback and hands-on experience
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar technical field
- 2+ years of engineering experience with a focus on building highly scalable distributed systems
- Self-starter – you are comfortable rapidly learning new technologies and turning a high-level task into a game plan
- Demonstrated ability to triage and prioritize production incidents efficiently
- Ownership mentality and resourcefulness
- Organized, high attention to detail, with emphasis on quality code, automation, validation and testing
- Experience with AWS, LLMs, TypeScript, PostgreSQL
- Strong ability to translate technical concepts into accessible language for cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Experience with building automated workflows
- Experience building applied AI features or working with LLM infrastructure
- Experience with healthcare workflows, care-setting variability, or regulated environments
- Experience with EHR integrations or health data standards
- Experience with operational tooling or onboarding/support-heavy product surfaces
- Experience building reusable patterns or frameworks that help teams move faster
