Application Support Engineer

Summary

FDM Group is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client-driven solutions. They are seeking an Application Support Engineer to support a project in the financial services sector, focusing on real-time distributed application platforms and providing technical support for trading and risk management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide L1 support for in-house built Font Office Pricing/Risk/Algo compute platform
• Provide L1 support in-house Kx/KDB+ Refinery applications
• Help build out monitoring and alert tools for our in-house applications
• Help on release management and application deployment
• Act as the support contact for internal and external clients
• Work closely with platform developers, quants and data analyst to troubleshoot any issue
• Maintain good communication with all stake holders throughout the life cycle of the issue
• Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates
• Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics

Skills

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Demonstrable experience in supporting real-time distributed financial application platform
• Hands-on experience with Linux OS, Linux commands and shell scripts
• Experience in monitoring tools like Grafana, Control-M, Splunk, Prometheus
• Advanced proficiency in determining the cause of application errors and repairing them
• Exceptional communication skills
• In depth understanding on any of below: Pricing of fixed income products like bonds, swaps and derivatives
• Swap product curve construction and boost strapping
• Position Risk & P&L
• Algo trading
• Experience of supporting Kx/KDB refinery
• Knowledge on python language
