Job description

Summary

Fearless is a digital integration consultancy that combines technology, people, and organizational development to solve meaningful problems. The Product Designer will support a federal agency’s enterprise cloud data modernization initiative by conducting user research, designing user journeys and service workflows, and creating accessible, user-centered platform experiences. The role also involves usability testing, discovery workshops, cross-functional collaboration, and improving customer adoption of enterprise data services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research with platform stakeholders to identify pain points, validate assumptions, and inform design decisions
  • Design end-to-end user journeys and service workflows that improve customer onboarding and platform usability
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups using Figma to communicate design concepts and validate solutions
  • Perform usability testing with end users to evaluate design effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure all designs meet federal accessibility standards and support inclusive user experiences
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, customer success teams, and stakeholders to translate user needs into intuitive platform experiences
  • Facilitate discovery workshops to align cross-functional teams around user-centered platform enhancements
  • Develop service blueprints and customer experience artifacts that improve platform adoption and service delivery
  • Analyze user feedback and usability findings to recommend improvements that enhance customer experience and platform adoption
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams
  • Earn the trust of your customers and teammates by delivering world-class services
  • Be reliable in completing assigned objectives on time
  • Alert your teammates and supervisor immediately when you think a deliverable is at risk
  • Gather intelligence and listen to what your client, other people within the customer’s organization and other contractors say about your project, and report back to your Fearless teammates and supervisor (whether it’s good, bad or just informational)
  • Deliver expected outcomes that are intuitive, accessible, and aesthetically compelling
  • Offer and implement innovative solutions that include design best practices, tools, and research methods
  • Serve as a trusted advisor in your area of expertise

Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in UX design, product design, or related roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
  • Proven experience conducting user research and synthesizing findings into actionable design recommendations
  • Strong proficiency with Figma or similar design and prototyping tools
  • Demonstrated experience designing user journeys, service workflows, and wireframes for digital platforms
  • Experience facilitating discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews, or design sessions with cross-functional teams
  • Experience performing usability testing and incorporating feedback into iterative design improvements
  • Experience translating user research and business requirements into user-centered design solutions for complex digital products
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
  • Analytical Thinking: The ability to observe and interpret information, break down complex problems into parts, identify patterns/relationships, and draw logical conclusions to develop effective solutions
  • Synthetic Thinking: The ability to combine different ideas, information, or concepts to create a new, complex understanding or solution by integrating disparate elements into a new, meaningful whole
  • Adaptability: Comfort with change, flexibility in the face of shifting demands and resilience to setbacks
  • Ownership & Accountability: Committed to taking responsibility for outcomes, ensuring that all commitments are met with a focus on enhancing service delivery

  • Practical Application: You can complete tasks in the required competency/skill-based areas as requested. Help from an expert may be necessary from time to time, but you can usually perform the skill independently
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings
  • Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings, which may involve driving or flying
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills
  • Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds)
  • Experience supporting federal government, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments with accessibility and human-centered design requirements
  • Experience designing for enterprise data platforms, cloud services, or internal tools supporting technical users
  • Familiarity with design systems and scalable component libraries
