Job description

Summary

Fortra is seeking a Professional Services Consultant I to join its Services team and help customers deploy and use its software solutions. The role focuses on customer implementations, training, demonstrations, consulting, partner enablement, and cross-functional collaboration, with regional travel of less than 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver customer training to ensure clients can take full advantage of product features and functionality
  • Deliver professional services to support successful product implementations and customer outcomes
  • Provide training and enablement for Fortra business partners so they can effectively deliver technical services and support to their customers
  • Conduct product demonstrations and proof-of-concept (POC) engagements for prospective customers, showcasing how our solutions address business challenges and requirements
  • Assess customer training and consulting needs and partner with Sales to develop quotes and Statements of Work (SOWs) for services engagements
  • Support and enhance the Customer Lifecycle process, continuously identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience
  • Provide feedback and enhancement recommendations to the R&D team to help improve products and expand market opportunities
  • Travel regionally as needed (less than 20%) to support customer implementations and software deployments
  • Occasionally work outside normal business hours to support customer requirements when necessary
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles, technical tips, and best practices as needed
  • Consistently conduct yourself in a professional manner and adhere to all Fortra policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, honesty, and customer service in all interactions with employees, prospects, partners, and customers

Skills

  • Experience with Managed File Transfer (MFT) products and/or scripting
  • Programming experience
  • CISSP or other cybersecurity certifications
  • Experience with Linux and Windows environments; IBM platform experience is a plus
  • Cloud platform experience, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Containerization experience, such as Docker
  • SQL experience, including proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and DB2
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights and recommendations
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders, including Development, Support, Sales, Pre-Sales, and Project Management teams, as well as external stakeholders such as IT Managers, System Administrators, Project Leaders, and Project Managers
  • Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative team environments and contribute to shared goals and business objectives
