Salary Range: Starting rate for new hires is $16.25 per hour

Who We Are:

With three campuses along Colorado’s Front Range, FRCC is the state’s largest community college. We enroll close to 28,000 students annually from our diverse service area, which offers a variety of cultural and recreational activities.

Each year approximately 5,000 FRCC students transfer to four-year universities and FRCC offers more than 36 career training programs that prepare students for immediate employment and rewarding careers. Last year, more than 5,000 high school students took concurrent enrollment classes with us, earning college credit without having to pay college tuition. Job Summary:

Sanderosa Art Gallery / NOCOAC is a Laporte-based nonprofit supporting the Northern Colorado artist community through exhibitions and public programming. This internship gives a college student real-world experience in nonprofit marketing, social media, and communications, working alongside board volunteers to grow the gallery's visibility and audience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Draft and schedule social media content for gallery events and member spotlights.
  • Assist with monthly artist and public newsletters.
  • Help design event posters and promotional graphics (Tuesday Talks, First Fridays, etc.).
  • Support email list management and outreach (e.g., Mailchimp).
  • Help audit and update the artist directory across platforms.
  • Assist with basic website updates as needed (Wix).

Competencies:

  • Written communication tailored to different audiences (members vs. general public).
  • Basic graphic design sense and attention to visual consistency.
  • Organization across a recurring content calendar.
  • Comfort learning new tools quickly in a small-team setting.
  • Reliability with minimal day-to-day supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a FRCC student enrolled in at least 6 credits for the current semester.
  • Applicants must qualify for and be awarded Federal Work-Study funds through Financial Aid.
  • Currently enrolled college student eligible for internship/practicum credit.
  • Comfortable using at least one social media platform for business/organizational purposes.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Reliable and able to meet content deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework or interest in marketing, communications, graphic design, or nonprofit management.
  • Experience with Wix, Canva, Adobe, Mailchimp, or similar tools.
  • Interest in the visual arts or arts nonprofits.

Selection Process:

Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate.

FRCC will conduct a criminal background check on selected candidate. Employment offers and continued employment are contingent upon receiving a satisfactory report.

Additional Information/Benefits:

During the semester you are allowed to work up to 20 hours a week and when the college is between semesters, you could work up to 28 hours.
