Job description

Summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Technical Application Engineer to support its Industrial Communications products, including MDS and Lentronics. The role partners with sales teams, channels, and customers on technical sales efforts, develops proposals and project scopes, presents technical solutions, and manages commercial and contractual risks throughout the inquiry-to-order process.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Sales, channels and customers on pre-sales and post-Sales technical efforts on Industrial Communications products (MDS and Lentronics)
  • Develop and execute technical sales strategies relevant to market opportunities
  • Communicate individual customer requirements to Sales Manager in regards to designs and quotations
  • Communicate requirements for order fulfillment to sourcing and operations teams
  • Direct the management of customer’s with clear communication internally and externally
  • Document competitors’ activities and assess potential market moves
  • Review and influence customer specifications to assure compliance and/or noted exceptions for development of equipment and service quotations
  • Be engaged with other Communications Sales Application Engineers, Sales Managers and immediate manager
  • Make technical presentations to all levels of the customer’s organization
  • Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules and cost estimates to facilitate total scope project offerings
  • Manage and negotiate commercial and contractual risk within the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process
  • Contribute positively to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college and or equivalent years experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Technical Engineering role
  • Minimum 3 Years of Networking and/or Industrial Communications Experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70%
  • CCNA / CCNP
  • IEEE, MIS, CS
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality Training
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Solid presentation skills, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent creative problem solving skills, customer mindset
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
