Summary
Giga is building AI data centers and associated physical infrastructure at scale. The Civil Engineer will support the full lifecycle of site development projects, including site assessments, design development, permitting, construction coordination, and inspections under the guidance of senior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing site layouts, including grading plans, drainage systems, utility routing, and foundation design under senior engineer guidance
- Conduct site assessments, gather geotechnical data, and contribute to environmental impact studies to support project viability determinations
- Research and apply local zoning laws and building codes; support the permitting process with municipal and state agencies
- Contribute to project schedules and budgets; assist with vendor coordination under senior oversight
- Support structural calculations for specialized equipment housing (e.g., pads for cooling units, heavy electrical infrastructure)
- Perform site inspections to verify construction alignment with engineering specifications and safety standards; document findings
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- 2–4 years of experience in land development, industrial construction, or data center infrastructure
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar BIM software
- Working knowledge of hydrology, soil mechanics, and reinforced concrete design
- Familiarity with critical infrastructure requirements (Power, Cooling, and Fiber connectivity)
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders
- PE license
