Job description

Summary

Hartford HealthCare at Home is a provider of homecare services in Connecticut. The Home Health and Hospice Billing Specialist manages billing and revenue cycle activities, including claim submission, denial resolution, accounts receivable follow-up, billing accuracy, compliance, audits, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Submit and manage Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance claims using HCHB and Waystar
  • Review, track, and resolve denied, rejected, and outstanding claims
  • Monitor aging accounts receivable and follow up on overdue balances
  • Collaborate with Intake, Authorization, Clinical, and Operations teams to ensure billing accuracy
  • Respond to billing inquiries and assist in resolving discrepancies
  • Participate in AR and billing review meetings and assist with audits and reporting
  • Maintain compliance with PDGM guidelines and payer-specific billing requirements
  • Perform additional billing and revenue cycle duties as assigned

Skills

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of home health and/or hospice billing experience
  • Experience with Home Care Home Base (HCHB), Waystar, DDE, or similar billing platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of home health and/or hospice billing experience
  • Experience with Home Care Home Base (HCHB), Waystar, DDE, or similar billing platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
