Job description

Summary

HDR is a 100% employee-owned engineering company with a global Water Business Group focused on addressing water challenges. The Project Engineer will support and lead water, wastewater, and water resource management projects by preparing designs, analyses, technical reports, cost estimates, permitting applications, and coordinated project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead projects related to water, wastewater, and/or water resource management
  • Prepare design calculations, cost estimates, technical reports, and engineering plans and specifications with precision and creativity
  • Accumulate and analyze data, presenting findings in professional reports, memos, and presentations for internal and client use
  • Take initiative and work independently while collaborating effectively with Project Managers and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Lead portions of design work and help ensure high-quality, accurate deliverables that meet regulatory and industry standards
  • Assist with permitting applications and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Coordinate with team members across multiple offices and disciplines to keep projects on track and aligned

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Previous experience executing technical studies, analyses, and/or designing and creating plans and specifications for water focused projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
  • Ability to make independent decisions and be accountable for the results
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
