Job description

Summary

HealthStream is a healthcare workforce solutions company providing learning, clinical development, credentialing, and scheduling applications. The Associate Developer will work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and test software products while learning and applying technology best practices.

Responsibilities

  • You will design, develop, and maintain the software products offered by HealthStream in accordance with technology best practices and product offerings
  • Work with team leaders and senior developers to understand and refine requirements
  • Design and estimate effort of new features or sub-systems from business concept to detailed technical design
  • Develop quality, defect free software that adheres to company coding and documentation standards
  • You will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training
  • Basic Troubleshooting skills
  • Using a code debugger
  • Identifying trouble area (Code/Server config/DB)
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD and code deployment patterns
  • Basic development skills
  • Use of integrated Development Environments
  • Working knowledge of Source Control system concepts
  • Effectively leverage AL tooling on a regular basis to enhance quality and personal throughput

Skills

  • * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • * Required software development knowledge and experience:
  • * Basic understanding of CI/CD and code deployment patterns
  • * Basic experience with SQL and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL
  • * Some experience with writing unit tests
  • * Experience with leveraging AI tooling to enhance personal productivity and quality
  • * Ability to communicate clearly to team members both verbally and in written form
  • * Must have strong logic skills, be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and demonstrate well-developed problem-solving skills
  • * Must demonstrate excellent time management, prioritization, attention to detail, and organization skills
  • * Work individually and as part of a team
  • * Learn via self-directed courseware as well as mentoring from peers/senior staff
  • * Exhibit appropriate attention to time management, professional conduct and adherence
  • * to corporate policies
  • * One year of software development experience preferred
  • * Preferred software development knowledge and experience:
  • * C# programming language and .NET development
  • * Entity Framework Core
  • * Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud concepts
  • * Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
