Summary
Hendrick Motorsports is a leader in the auto racing industry seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Fall 2026 quarter. The role supports the design, development, testing, integration, documentation, and continuous improvement of vehicle electrical systems in a fast-paced racing environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and testing of electrical systems
- Assist with wiring harness design, component sourcing and troubleshooting of power systems
- Work alongside mechanical and design engineers to integrate electrical systems into vehicles, considering space and weight constraints
- Help build prototypes, conduct bench and on-vehicle tests, collect data, and recommend improvements
- Create and update wire harness schematics, wiring diagrams, and test reports to support the engineering team
- Partner with electrical technicians and multidisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to real-world engineering processes
- Contribute ideas to refine designs and improve performance while developing your own technical skills
Skills
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technical field
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals (analog/digital circuit design, microcontrollers, power distribution, controls systems, programming)
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license required
- Effective communicator, able to work well in a team setting
- Familiarity with Github, DMMs, and Oscilloscopes is a plus
