Summary
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence provides measurement technologies, digital reality solutions, factory automation, simulation, and analytics for industrial manufacturers. The Service Engineer will install, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain high-precision Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and related equipment at customer locations, while providing technical guidance and documenting service activities. This remote, home-based role supports customers throughout Michigan and the Northeast with up to 100% travel.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain CMM systems at customer locations
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related system issues and implement corrective actions
- Provide technical training and operational guidance to customers on machine operation and preventative maintenance
- Accurately document service activities and submit detailed service reports
- Partner cross-functionally with technical support and engineering teams to resolve complex issues
- Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction while managing service schedules effectively
- Travel throughout the Northeast territory (up to 100%) to support customer needs
- Lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted and work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including overtime as required to meet customer needs
Skills
- Must be located in Michigan
- Technical degree (Technical School, Associate, or Bachelor's) in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, Mechatronics, or related field, or Military Technical School training and experience
- Hands-on experience using hand tools and basic electrical test equipment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in dynamic environments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Prior experience with CMM equipment or industrial automation is preferred
