Summary
enGen, part of Highmark Health, is seeking a Technology Engineer to support the design, development, maintenance, and reliable operation of technical solutions. The role manages day-to-day operations of the Starburst Enterprise Platform across on-premises and Google Cloud Platform environments, including installation, configuration, optimization, upgrades, and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for one or many of the following tasks: analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions, as well as providing general production monitoring and support, meeting defined scope, target dates and budgets with minimal or no defects
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, product, analytics, and business teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions that meet organizational needs
- Monitor work against production schedule and provide progress updates and report any issues or technical difficulties to leadership on a regular basis
- Document technical processes and procedures, and participate in technical reviews and knowledge sharing sessions
- Collaborate on the design and implementation of with architecture to ensure solution alignment to enterprise goals and standards
- Perform technical analysis and provide insights to support decision-making across various departments
- Stay up-to-date with the latest relevant technologies and industry best practices
- Other duties as assigned or requested
Skills
- CANDIDATE MUST BE US Citizen (due to contractual/access requirements)
- 3 years of experience in one or many of the following tasks: analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions, as well as providing general production support, meeting defined scope, target dates and budgets with minimal or no defects
- 3 years of technical problem solving, solution implementation, team/project collaboration experience
- 3 years of basic computer science concepts and principles, common operating systems, development languages/scripting
- Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
- Adaptability: Ability to take on diverse tasks and projects, adapting to the evolving needs of the organization

- 3-5 years experience implementing software for containerized applications using Red Hat Openshift, Kubernetes, or GKE
- 3-5 years experience managing software applications using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) techniques and tools including Gitlab, Terraform, Ansible, Helm Charts, .yaml code, config properties, etc
- 3-5 years experience applying role based authentication using LDAP, OAuth and Role-Based Access Control
- 3-5 years experience with monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting software in a distributed environment
- 3-5 years experience in Linux system administration and proven ability to operate within the Linux OS for installing and configuring software
- 3-5 years experience with the Google Cloud Platform and it associated services such as Cloud Run, Google Secrets Manager Cloud Networking, Google Cloud Storage, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKI), and Cloud SQL (Postgres)
- Proven experience securely storing, managing, and accessing sensitive data such as API keys, passwords, certificates and other confidential information using Google Secrets Manager or CyberArk Conjur
- Strong SQL skills and the ability optimize code by analyzing query plans, identify bottlenecks, and apply optimizations
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field
- CompTIA Linux+ or LPIC-1 Linux Adminstrator
- Red Had Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration)
