Summary
Indiana Fever is seeking a Basketball Front End Developer to assist in building and maintaining a user-friendly website for Pacers Basketball, LLC. The role focuses on front-end development, translating data into visually appealing web interfaces, and ensuring website functionality across devices.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building and maintaining web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python
- Translate SQL and design mockups or ideas into visually appealing and responsive front-end elements
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with website functionality, layout, or design
- Implement updates and improvements to existing front-end code based on feedback and new requirements
- Conduct testing to ensure compatibility and performance on various browsers and screen sizes
- Ensure accurate and fast data retrieval between the database and site
- Work closely with the Basketball Systems Developer and other team members to display data accurately and efficiently, including some data engineering and back end design
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, information systems, engineering, or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant front-end experience, internships, or personal projects is a plus
- Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with Python and familiarity with SQL for integrating front-end with back-end services
- Experience using Git for version control
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Eagerness to learn new technologies, tools, and frameworks as needed
- Familiarity or willingness to learn Vue.js, general knowledge of front end frameworks considered a plus
- Knowledge or willingness to learn Bootstrap for responsive design and prebuilt components
- Familiarity with Data Engineering design principles such as ETL, idempotency
