Summary
Johnson & Johnson is a healthcare innovation company developing solutions across Innovative Medicine and MedTech. The Engineering Development Co-Op will support engineering teams with design, prototyping, testing, documentation, data analysis, manufacturing activities, and continuous improvement projects while gaining practical experience in product development and manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Assisting engineers with design, prototyping, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities
- Supporting CAD modeling and implementing simple design updates under guidance
- Conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and summarizing results for engineering teams
- Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, engineering drawings, and test reports
- Supporting manufacturing, laboratory, or shop floor activities as needed
- Participating in team meetings and presenting project progress and findings
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support engineering initiatives and continuous improvement projects
Skills
- Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in **Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering**, or related engineering fields
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering fundamentals and problem-solving methodologies
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student throughout the duration of the Co-Op assignment
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools is preferred
- Previous internship, laboratory, manufacturing, research, or project experience
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or Excel
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences
