Job description

Summary

Kindred Curiosity is a nonprofit building a community for Women of the Asian Diaspora through storytelling, shared experiences, and intentional conversations. The Graphic Designer will create digital and print materials for events, programs, campaigns, and organizational initiatives while strengthening the organization’s visual identity and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Translate creative direction into high-quality designs that align with Kindred Curiosity's brand
  • Design engaging digital and print materials, including social media graphics, event marketing assets, newsletters, presentations, and other promotional materials
  • Create designs that communicate clearly, strengthen our brand, and encourage community engagement
  • Maintain consistency across Kindred Curiosity's visual identity and brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop creative solutions that support events, campaigns, and organizational initiatives
  • Contribute creative ideas that strengthen storytelling, audience engagement, and brand awareness
  • Incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders while meeting project deadlines
  • Stay up to date with design trends and bring fresh ideas that enhance Kindred Curiosity's visual storytelling

Skills

  • • 2+ years of experience (academic and/or professional) with Figma and other design tools (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
  • • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and articulate design concepts
  • • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
  • • Passionate about Women of the Asian Diaspora, their experiences, and building meaningful community
  • • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • • Experienced with project management tools (i.e. ClickUp, Asana, Slack, etc.)
  • • Location: SF Bay Area (preferred) or Remote
  • • Ability to attend in-person events throughout the Bay Area is preferred
  • • 1-2 years of experience in professional graphic design, preferably with a creative or marketing agency

Benefits

  • Estimated time commitment: Ranging from 15-20 hours per month
  • Volunteer term will go until December 2027
