Summary
LA-Tech.org is offering the Fall 2026 LA Tech Rising Internship Program designed for early-career talent in Software Engineering and Cybersecurity. This paid, 12-week internship provides relevant work experience, mentorship, and opportunities for professional development while collaborating with industry professionals.
Responsibilities
- Attend live virtual sessions every Tuesday/Thursday from 4:00-6:30 pm
- Attend the In-person intern retreat (Tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 4th)
- Attend the in-person tech campus site visit (TBD)
- Attend the in-person Demonstration Day (November or December 2026 - TBD)
- Attend at least two virtual professional development workshops (hosted monthly)
- Choose Your Project Focus: Software Engineering -- You will learn to build applications, tools, and software solutions that solve real-world problems
- Choose Your Project Focus: Cybersecurity -- You will learn to protect systems, data, and networks by identifying, preventing, and responding to digital threats
Skills
- Currently reside in Los Angeles or Los Angeles County (proof will be required if selected*)
- Able to commit 10-15 hours/week, including mandatory live virtual sessions every Tuesday/Thursday from 4:00-6:30 pm
- Some exposure to software engineering or cybersecurity concepts (including self-guided learning) or a strong interest in developing technical skills
- Technical projects (even on your own), or a keen interest in wanting to learn more about technical concepts
- Experience working in collaborative team environments
- Participation in extracurricular activities demonstrates leadership, curiosity, and a willingness to grow and learn
