As a Systems Engineer Intern, you will support the development, integration, and validation of complex automotive systems, gaining hands-on experience across the full systems lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering, analyzing, and documenting system requirements for automotive components and subsystems
- Contribute to system block diagrams, interface definitions, and design reviews
- Support test planning, execution, and data analysis for system‑level and component‑level validation
- Work with engineers to identify issues, analyze failures, and support corrective actions
- Partner with mechanical, electrical, software, and quality teams to ensure system alignment and performance
- Assist with system modeling, simulation, or analysis tools used in the design process
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, documentation updates, and workflow optimization
Skills
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Interest in automotive systems, embedded technologies, or electromechanical design
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn in a fast‑paced engineering setting
- Detail-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Exposure to systems engineering principles (requirements, V‑model, validation)
- Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar tools
- Experience with CAN, LIN, or other automotive communication protocols
- Understanding of basic electrical or mechanical systems
- Coursework or project experience in embedded systems, controls, or mechatronics
