Job description

We are seeking Summer 2027 Engineering Interns! This is a paid internship.
Engineering Intern
Position Summary: The Engineering Intern will support the Engineering team with daily tasks and project-based work while gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. This position is designed for college students pursuing an engineering degree and offers exposure to product design, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with light design and 3D modeling of company products using SolidWorks
  • Create and update weld, assembly, forming, and machine shop drawings for manufacturing
  • Modify jobs and existing Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support accurate routing and manufacturing times within the ERP system (Syteline)
  • Provide technical support to shop floor personnel during the manufacturing process
  • Assist engineers with project-related work, documentation, and data collection
  • Participate in continuous improvement and engineering support activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • General knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, production, and sales teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient reading and writing skills in English
  • Working knowledge of algebra and geometry as applied to engineering concepts
  • Basic computer and data entry skills, including document preparation and printing
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn
Education and/or Experience:
  • Must be currently enrolled in and pursuing a college degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field preferred)
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to solve practical engineering problems and work with limited standardization
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats
  • Capable of reviewing historical data and applying it to new situations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk
  • Majority of time spent working at a computer and participating in meetings or shop floor interactions
Work Environment:
  • Professional office environment within a manufacturing facility
  • Workstation may be located on the second floor
  • Regular interaction with shop floor personnel
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles on the shop floor
  • Noise levels vary
  • Required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, must be worn when on the shop floor
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
