Founding Engineer Intern

Summary

Makeable is building tools that help people turn ideas into real physical products using artificial intelligence, software, and physical-world systems. The Founding Engineer Intern will work with the founders on AI and full-stack product engineering, building systems that transform prompts into 3D models, renders, parts, instructions, and code while improving the web product and user workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work across artificial intelligence and full stack product engineering
• Build fast, reliable product flows for text to 3D and hardware creation
• Develop and improve the web experience, including frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and data systems
• Prototype, test, and improve workflows with real users
• Make technical choices with the founders and take ownership from idea to shipped feature

Skills

• Strong ability to build and ship software
• You may be a student, recent graduate, or self taught builder
• Experience with modern web development, such as TypeScript or JavaScript, React, Python, APIs, databases, and cloud tools
• A portfolio, GitHub, side project, or other evidence that you make things
• Good product taste and the ability to explain technical choices clearly
• Comfort working in a small team where the work changes quickly
• Interest or experience in artificial intelligence, generative systems, 3D, CAD, computer vision, robotics, or hardware is valuable, but not required
