Remote Accountant

Summary

MCI is a tech-enabled business services company delivering customer experience, business process outsourcing, and technology solutions. The Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, produce timely reports, and support internal controls and budgeting while ensuring compliance with GAAP. The role focuses on accounts receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Receivable processes, including invoicing, applying manual payments, generating aging reports, and reconciling accounts
• Record routine journal entries and bank transactions
• Enter accounts payable bills and credit card transactions as needed
• Perform month-end closings and account reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data, making necessary corrections and adjustments
• Conduct bank reconciliations
• Provide support to accounting team members as required

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1–2 years of experience with accrual-based accounting, including AR, journal entries, month-end close, and bank reconciliations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting across all levels of the organization
• Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage projects effectively
• High attention to detail with excellent proofreading and editing skills
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and work independently
• Highly self-motivated and proactive
• Must be authorized to work in the country where the job is based
