Estimator

Summary

Three Phase Line Construction, Inc. (3Phase), a MasTec Power Delivery company, provides distribution, substation, transmission, and communication construction services. The Estimator will prepare accurate estimates and bids for power delivery construction projects by reviewing plans, analyzing costs, gathering supplier pricing, and supporting competitive bidding and project planning.

Responsibilities

• Generate bid hour and bid sheets for substation and transmission line projects
• Reach out to suppliers to gather and confirm pricing information
• Prepare detailed take-offs and staking sheets for accurate project estimation
• Review bid documents to ensure thorough understanding and accuracy
• Perform site visits as needed to collect relevant information and assess project requirements
• Collect and analyze historical cost data to enhance estimates for ongoing and future projects
• Develop estimates to support management in project planning, organization, and scheduling
• Interpret blueprints and other documentation to provide accurate time, cost, material, and labor estimates

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in utility construction estimating - Transmission line or Substation
• Experience with EPC Estimating
• Strong background in Microsoft Office applications as well as construction estimating software
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence
• Sound organizational skills with attention to detail
• B2W experience preferred
