Trusted Tester Level I - Web Tester

Summary

McGarity Consulting Group is staffing a contingent project role for a Trusted Tester Level I - Web Tester. The role performs federal Section 508 conformance testing of web content and applications, documents results for quality review and compliance reporting, and supports technical assistance and remediation guidance as testing volume allows.

Responsibilities

• Perform Section 508 conformance testing of ICT using current approved assessment methods, test reporting tools, and formats
• Test using the DHS Trusted Tester Conformance Test Process for Web, v5.0 or later
• Document results completely and accurately in the required format for quality review and program reporting
• Support technical assistance and remediation guidance work as testing volume allows

Skills

• Current DHS Trusted Tester Level 5 (or later) certification — hard requirement
• Basic knowledge of the Revised Section 508 Standards
• One year of accessibility testing experience
• WCAG 2.0 A and AA familiarity
• Screen reader familiarity with JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver
• Careful documentation habits — a defect recorded ambiguously is a defect someone else has to retest
• Willingness to have your work reviewed and corrected; quality review is built into this program by design
• Interest in growing into document remediation and advisory work, since this role sits directly below two seats that do both
