Summary
Metropolitan Transportation Authority operates a large public transportation network serving the New York metropolitan region. The Transit Management Analyst Series supports Subways Operations Training through data analysis, training record tracking, project coordination, administrative management, reporting, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Tracking the progress of and keeping accurate records for hourly/supervisory employees in Service Delivery training positions, including building and updating data dashboards for different training titles
- The candidate will perform analytical functions which include researching and analyzing data relating to operational procedures and operational infractions for service delivery titles
- Managing the status of projects and coordinating with executives across the agency to provide updates and timely submission of information utilizing charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports
- Develop and recommend procedural or process improvements
- Maintain schedules and calendars for the Service Delivery Training unit, including course dates, ongoing training, and time off
- Handle supply and technology ordering and distribution across the unit, which includes classrooms in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx
- Utilize the PEETS-Probationary Evaluation Tracking System to monitor extensions, terminations and to ensure evaluations are performed in a timely manner
- Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain internal software, hardware, and cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack)
- Automate routine administrative workflows and reporting using tools like Excel macros, basic SQL, or workflow automation software (e.g., Power B.I)
- Maintain and update company databases, CRM systems, and digital file repositories with strict data integrity and security protocols
- Manage complex executive calendars, coordinate cross-functional meetings
- Oversee office inventory, order supplies, and coordinate equipment maintenance with external vendors
- Generate, analyze, and distribute weekly or monthly operational reports using advanced spreadsheet functions
- Track project milestones, record detailed meeting minutes, and follow up with team members on pending action items

- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods of analysis, operations research, organization research or program evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program planning or administration, security management; or general administration
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one (1) year of full‐time satisfactory professional experience working in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program planning or administration, security management; or general administration; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above
- Knowledge of NYCT Department of Subways preferred
