Summary
Mindlance is recruiting a temporary Software Engineer II to support time-bound engineering initiatives involving the WAIST feature across Facebook and Instagram. The role maintains machine learning classification models, monitors data and dataset quality, investigates performance regressions, and contributes to software development, operational excellence, and cross-functional project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Deliver well-scoped software enhancements and features aligned to project goals and timelines
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality and reliability
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the development lifecycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, design, data, security) to support execution of defined deliverables
- Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented solutions
- Contribute to operational excellence, including monitoring, incident response support, and performance improvements as needed
Skills
- Experience with developing evaluated machine learning models - particularly classification models
- Experience building or supporting ML systems in production environments
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go, or similar)
- Experience building, testing, and maintaining production-quality software
- Experience with common development practices and tools (e.g., version control, code review, CI/CD)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience at Meta would be preferred
- Experience at similar companies such as Google, Apple, Uber, Netflix etc
