Mechanical - Master Tradesperson (SkillBridge Intern) - 18127

Summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Mechanical Master Tradesperson intern through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. The intern will train on practical projects, learning the fundamentals of being a Master Tradesperson while working closely with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership
• The intern will be assigned special projects as needed
• The intern will be able to develop skills needed to be presented with a problem, design solutions, fabricate the solutions, test the product, and make alterations based on feedback
• The intern will develop a good understanding of the tradesperson equipments
• Operation, configuration, and maintenance of equipment
• Repairing capabilities with Auxiliary Equipment to include in following: Solid Waste, Processing Equipment, High and Low Pressure Air Compressors, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, JP-5 Service Pumps and Purifiers, Steam Water Heaters, Condenser Cleaning, Valve repair, maintenance and hydro-testing, Manufacturing Gaskets
• Reading and use Manufactures Technical Manuals, Drawings and PMS Cards
• Maintaining Quality Control IAW the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual
• Maintaining and establish safe work practices including all required Tag Outs
• Learning to schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management of work progress

Skills

• Must be Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service

• Must possess a Confidential or higher security clearance
